Quantum Gravity Principle Proven in Atom-Scale Test
Scientists have experimentally shown that one of Einstein’s core ideas about gravity—the equivalence principle—also works in the quantum world. Using a device called the Quantum Galileo Interferometer, they split an atom’s wave into two, sent one half into free fall, and confirmed that gravity behaves identically even for quantum particles. This is the first time the principle has held up in lab tests at such a small scale.

The study found that models built mostly on European data performed worse in Japanese individuals. Larger ancestry-specific data helped, but didn’t fully close the gap.
