Anthropic launches Claude Fable 5.1 with better benchmarks
Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1, its newest AI model focused on coding and complex research tasks. The company says 5.1 handles long-running projects better by planning and checking its own work, and boasts a big jump on the Terminal-Bench-Science test—up to 52.6% from 24.7%. That said, at least one reviewer found real-world differences between Fable 5.1 and its predecessor were subtle, not dramatic. Pricing is unchanged from before.

The disruptions started between 7:37 a.m. and 11 a.m. Eastern and lasted from two to four hours depending on the platform. All three companies confirmed the incidents and later restored service. Some users were unable to log in, access conversations, or use key features during the outages.
